Blues and Oranges

If a picture restorer would take an x-ray of this painting, they would find many iterations underneath the glowing blue paint! It started out as magenta and orange and slowing changed into ultramarine, Turner's yellow and oranges. The process of painting shows me what to do. Often when I start, I don't know where it will lead me and this makes for an exciting journey. These flowers are inspired by home-grown dahlias which I think are marvels of nature - so mathematically perfect!
